MIA's HALL OF AVIATION
OPENED MARCH 23, 2017
On March 23rd , 2017 Miami International Airport hosted a reception at its South Terminal International Greeters Lobby (4th Fl mezzanine, opening its new "Hall of Aviation" with an exhibit telling the history of Miami aviation -- first of many exhibits that will be on display at this location.
Many from Pan Am and Eastern Air Lines are excited that MIA will continue partnering with the University of Miami and HistoryMiami, to present historical relics and memorabilia from the “Glory Days of Aviation” in Miami.
Pan Am, Eastern, Braniff, Arrow Air, Air Florida, Mackey and several others -- some of the most prominent air carriers active in Miami -- opened Florida and the Caribbean to air travel and supported the fantastic growth of tourism over the past decades.
In fact, Pan Am and Eastern were among the largest employers in South Florida!
